Celebrations of Ayurveda Day-2025

The Embassy of India in Antananarivo organized the celebration of Ayurveda Day 2025 under the theme “Ayurveda for People and Planet”, on 23 September 2025. The day also marked the observance of “Swasth Bharat” in the Mission.

2. The event was graced by the presence of Minister of Public Health of Madagascar H.E. Professor Zely Arivelo Randramanantany. Several Members of Parliament, Representative from Ministries and members of the Indian Community and Friends of India also participated in the event. The event commenced with the screening of a short documentary film on Ayurveda. A short video featuring Dr. Yogendra Singh, formerly TIC in the Mission speaking about the origin and various aspects of Ayurveda was also screened.

3.   Chargé d’ Affaires Mrs. Alka Sarkar in her address reflected upon the theme of Ayurveda Day 2025, a reminder that good health is inseparable from the well-being of our environment and our collective resolve to harness the full potential of Ayurveda. She highlighted the efforts made by the Government of India to promote awareness and research on Ayurveda and other traditional systems of medicine in India. She also spoke about the important concept of “Swasth Bharat” where under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi numerous schemes have been introduced to provide health benefits to people at the grassroot levels in India. 

4. The event featured an exhibition on the history and practice of Ayurveda, focusing on the balancing of the human body. Ayurvedic herbs and products were displayed with description of their uses and benefits. The exhibition was viewed with great interest by the dignitaries. The event concluded with the serving of Indian snacks which were relished by all.
